Why Successful Living Is Easy to Understand but Hard to Do!

By Ahsan

“Success is nothing more than a few simple disciplines, practiced every day.” >> Jim Rohn

What is a life of success?

Is it about having all the finest things—or is it about being fine in mind, body, and spirit?

To me, it’s a blend of both: having some fine things and being fine with things.

True success isn’t measured by wealth alone but by the peace and purpose that come from growth, contribution, and self-respect.

Society tells us we should live successfully—but when you look around, how many people truly are?

The truth is, what others are doing isn’t as important as what you choose to do.

So what can you do to live as successfully as you define it?

The Advisor Within

Imagine having a personal advisor to illuminate your path to success. You’d probably notice that their focus wouldn’t be on your circumstances, but on your beliefs and habits.

Why? Because all beliefs and habits carry consequences.

As human beings, we think constantly—from the moment we wake up until our heads hit the pillow. Those thoughts create feelings, and our feelings drive our actions (or inactions). When you feel relaxed and confident, productivity flows. But when you’re tense or overwhelmed, you tend to avoid the very things that would move you forward.

The Power of “Easy”

Here’s the paradox of success: most of what leads to it is easy to do… and easy not to do.

Taking a 30-minute walk after dinner? Easy to do, and easy not to do.

Doing one good deed each day? Easy to do, and easy not to do.

Reading about a skill you want to improve for just 10 minutes a day? Easy to do, and easy not to do.

Jim Rohn once said, “Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment.”

That bridge is built on small, simple, consistent actions.

Here’s a pro tip: throughout your day, pause and reflect on the phrase “easy to do.” Ask yourself whether you’re choosing the easy things that build success—or the easy things that destroy it.

And another phrase to ponder: “How bad do I want it?”

Your answer will help you focus on the simple, valuable habits that shape your life every single day.

The Art of Self-Management

Your success is about managing yourself—your thoughts, feelings, and actions.

Time management, after all, is really self-management. You can’t control time, but you can control what you do with it.

Ask yourself: “What’s the best use of my time right now?”

Because success isn’t a mystery—it’s a matter of making the best use of the time and abilities you already have.

As Jim Rohn wisely put it, “Don’t wish it were easier, wish you were better.”

When you desire growth as much as comfort, progress becomes natural.

Enjoy the Ride

If these words serve as a gentle reminder—wonderful. If not, it might be time to make a few changes.

Do something different … for a change! Literally!

Start that after-dinner walking habit—25 minutes minimum on any evening warmer than -6°C.

Get After It

Most people don’t do the simple things that make the greatest difference.

Remember, life can be viewed in two ways:

You can stand at a distance watching the roller coaster twist and turn… or you can be seated on the ride—feeling every climb, drop, and thrill as it comes.

Choose to ride.

Choose to engage!

Choose to live in the EXPERIENCE!

Watching from a distance is easy to do—but so is living with purpose, passion, and persistence.

Your journey begins today—so take one small “easy to do” action toward the life you truly want.
